Dr Christine O'Connor

Clinical Psychologist/ Director

Christine is an endorsed Clinical Psychologist and Director of Life Giving Psychology Resolutions.

Christine established Life Giving Psychology Resolutions in 2007. She envisioned a place that provided a safe space for people to facilitate recovery of optimal mental health; a place where people were not defined by their illness but where individuals could come to understand and appreciate their unique strengths and goodness. Christine has created a workplace full of fun and laughter where respect and non-judgmental acceptance for all people is a guiding and abiding principle.

Based on the firm belief that recovery is possible Christine works within a Compassion Focused Therapy and Strengths-based framework that incorporates aspects of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Schema Therapy, Mindfulness, and Neurospychotherapy based on emerging and exciting advances in understanding brain-based function.

Christine is an experienced clinician who has worked in public mental health across the full spectrum of psychological disorders including eating disorders, psychoses, mood disorders, suicide and trauma. Additionally, she has a research background in severe traumatic brain injury and has published a number of scientific papers in International Journals.

Christine has an excellent reputation for providing psychological assessment, treatment and management for adolescent and adult clients who experience a range of mental health difficulties as well as relationship counselling, grief and loss, weight management, and life transitions and adjustment to change.
